In the following exemplar, the parties not only agree to accept written notice sent via U.S. mail and overnight courier, but they also agree to recognize an express exception to the written-notice requirement for routine communication via email:

Any notice required or permitted hereunder shall be in writing and shall be delivered personally, sent by certified or registered mail or through overnight courier. Any such notice shall be deemed given when so delivered personally, or, if mailed by certified or registered mail, three (3) days after the date of deposit in the United States mail, or, if deliverable by overnight courier, one (1) day after the date of deposit with a reputable overnight mail service. Each such notice shall be sent to the address of the party set forth below or such other address as shall have been specified by notice hereunder. Notwithstanding the foregoing, routine requests for approvals and replies, and other routine communications between the parties in connection with this Agreement may be made by electronic mail.
